Banditos improve to 3-3 on the season, while Novacaine drops to 3-4.

This is the second time Banditos shutout an opponent this season. The victory snapped a 2 game losing streak for Banditos.

These teams had played each other twice prior to this matchup. Their most recent matchup was Oct 06 2011, 22:00, a Fairfax County Flag Football League "A" regular season game which Novacaine won 13-7.

Next up for Banditos is Outcast (0-4-1). That game is scheduled for May 17 2012, 20:00 at Lake Fairfax#4.

Novacaine will face off against Wolves (3-2) on May 14 2012, 22:00 at Rolling Valley West#2.

Thanks go to Patrick and the Novacaines for moving to the later time slot so our QB could make it. Doing so, made getting some of their players there at kickoff time a bit of a challenge for them. Good game `caines. Hope to see you again before this season is through.

Yep even though I explained to Tom and The Banditos we prob wouldn`t have 8 if the game moved to 10, it was moved to 10 anyway to accomodate their QB. My only mistake was not rescheduling for another night, because I foolishly thought ppl would acutally come. I had until 3 to reschedule and was not informed people werent coming until later in the day.

We had 6 people for the first 10 mins, 7 people until 3 mins before halftime when our 8th strolled in. Still gave up 2 TDs per half, and looked like a C team. It was a lot of fun. I don`t know if we wouldve won at 9, but I know we lost a good 3 players to the time change. Good game, I guess.

Here is another way The Banditos skate by. Combined with this, not playing Showtime or TC, and getting to play UDR, they will prob make the playoffs over a better team like 7pt Spread.

dumbells you`re a good dude, because i wouldn`t have changed it so their 1 player (and most important) could make the game ESPECIALLY since it directly hurt you guys.

does this happen? Why do Novacaine and Banditos have people hating on them? Everybody knows they are not top tier of A, but people still find a reason to complain about both teams. Both teams would be in the top tier of B, but if they moved to B, the same people hating would be complaining that they should move up to A. Is it a self-esteem issue? I mean you can`t have it both ways..

This loss by them doesn`t really hurt us, to whoever the closet hater is. In fact, it helps us. Thanks Pat. In fact now we control our own destiny seeing as there are 2 teams currently with 4 losses + the Bandito`s still on our schedule (same amount of losses as us).

Yeah looks like we will prob be the odd team out after last night. Banditos and Badboyz both have tie breakers with us and both still play Outcast.

If you all play like you did 2nd half last week no one on your schedule is going to beat you, that`s something I do know.

People keep crying about who the Banditos played. You can`t play all the teams. Who knew UDR was this bad? Who thought Greyhounds would play this well or even the Penetrators be this good? You can`t predict who is going to be well each year. They might not be playing TC, but sorry TC hasn`t one anything in a while. Plus no one knew anything about Showtime. They could have been as bad as UDR. They are playing the defending champs (Wolves) and a two time champ in 7 pt. Make it a 11 game season and have everyone play everyone to eliminate this discussion. I`m sure you could have this conversation about each time.

We were missing Cube, DO, our center, DLine and OLine. We were scored on once with 6 people, once with 7 people. They got the ball both halves.

I`m sure none of that made a difference. Fair and square!

considering what you were missing, why the hell did you accommodate the Bandito`s? The fact alone that they wanted to re-schedule just to have their QB, lets you know they wouldn`t have done the same for you.

PLAYOFFS?!!??!? Don`t talk about playoffs! You kidding me?! Point being, A league is a very tight race this season and almost every team is under increased pressure to win each week. Another team(s) will be under the microscope next week, but lets not talk about playoffs until the final week of the season, as the playoffs will likely be undecided until then.

I guess so. To set the record straight I told Banditos coach we couldn`t do 10, then he asked Tom anyway. I told Tom we couldn`t do 10, then said we would have to play another night. With as many people in the resturant business as we have, I thought it was in our best interest to not reschedule for another weeknight. If this was planned a week in advance itd be one thing, but it was literally the night before and day of the game when the change was asked for and made. THAT is why our turnout was as poor. Banditos could have played at 9. Me, Joe and our QB showed up at 9:20 and they had 12-15 people easy, and their QB was there. So at worst he would`ve missed a little of the first half. Instead we start with 6 and kick both halves and they have an entire first and second string. So if this game is the reason we miss the playoffs, it will be pretty lame.

That being said, I guess other teams in this league have enough players that will adjust their schedule to someone elses (at the last minute). Unfortunately we don`t. This could very well be Novacaine`s last season, we will see. Quite frankly I`m sick of calling people every week and begging them to come play so we have enough.

To set the record even straighter, we told Tom that we would be willing to play ANY other night if the`caines could not do 10 PM. We offered to play any night or time, including playing them during the 2nd game of a double header if we had to, or with our backup QB (who was out of town last night). We were fully prepared and willing to play another night and left the option open to the `caines to decide. Our QB coaches baseball and his game from Friday was postponed to Monday. He arrived at 9:20 right from his game, luckily becuase his team won in a slaughter. We had 12 players total. The option was in Dumbells hands and he explained his reasoning above for not re-scheduling. They played hard regardless and we hope to see them again. We respect them and know they are a strong team. The score breakdown was 8-0, 14-0, 21-0, 28-0. We missed a FG.

Pat sounds like the typical captains plight! I gave up with all the hounding people to show up 2 seasons ago. I send out 1 email, whoever shows is what we role with. That, and I added a few football junkies that I KNOW will show up. I`d rather have a roster of 10-12 but that always comes back to haunt me. In turn, some games I have too many people.

As for your game last night. Andy, you`re trippen for even asking to have your game rescheduled for 1 person. It would be different if you couldn`t field a team, but for 1 person, weak move my friend (even if it is the most important person on your team).

Most teams do agree. But if a team refuses it should be left at that and the game played at the scheduled time.

He`s acting like the decision was his. Like he set the options on the table for Caines, and it was either pick one or else. When in reality, if Tom would have said, your game is at 9 (as scheduled), Robots would have showed up with all their team on time minus the QB for a few series and the universe would have been quite alright. But this guy is acting like because he didn`t have his qb or back up qb, they couldn`t even participate in the game.

see 7pt, Novacaines, and Banditos drop to the B league and listen to people ***** about how they need to move to A. If they are B league teams, that means there are only like 6 A league teams in our entire league.

also the fact that HE asked Dumbells first (good gesture) then after Dumbells said it wasn`t a good idea for his team, he turned around and asked TOM anyway, which in turn put Caines in a bind. B.I.T.C.H. move.

It is very hard to put together a winning team that is good for more than a few seasons. The coach/captain has to deal with (1) egos - everyone thinks they are a star and should be playing both ways, (2) collecting money - it is amazing how hard it is to get grown men to pony up their share, (3) attendance issues - nothing is more frustrating than a bunch of no-shows , and (4) poachers - someone is always looking to steal your players. I give big credit to teams that are still playing like Wolves, TC and Lazy Sundae and past teams like the Sharks, Dietze Nuts, NOVAs who managed to win titles over multiple seasons.

Caines were 6-2 last year, losing only to BBoyz and Wolves (who won A). 7pt has won 2 A League ships. Banditos compete every year. They are A League teams.

If youre on TC, Caines beat you last time you played. If you`re on Wolves, 7pt beat you last time you played. Who`s that leave? Showtime? Who lost to the Hounds, who Caines beat? Who the Banditos beat last night? Yeah sounds like B teams to me.

Have to agree with Cody, rescheduling a game cause one guy can`t make it is pretty weak. Rescheduling a game should be reserved for issues like not being able to field a team. Props to Pat for accommodating the Banditos wishes. It`s unfortunate that it came back to bite you in the ass.

Maybe Tom can accommodate both teams with a redo on this one?

With the level of competition this year in the "A" it would be sad to see a team like 7PT (previous 2 time champ) or Novacaines not make the playoffs. Things got even more complicated with UDR dropping out and skewing the standings in a way.

The way I see it, any team in this division is capable of winning it all this season. It`s all about who plays their best and makes the least mistakes during the playoffs.

Lets reformat the playoffs so 10 teams get in.

The story goes back a bit farther. The original game was sched at RV. It was cancelled due to rain. When I was rescheduling cancelled games and adding the rest of the season schedule I put the game at LFF (far for Novacaine, close for Banditos). Novacaine reminded me that the game had originally been at RV (far for Banditos, close for Novacaine) and thus the resched should be RV, and they had a good point - my mistake. Banditos agreed to move from LFF to RV, and vice versa for the B game sched there. When Banditos said they needed the 10:00 slot vs 9:00 I told them only if the 10:00 teams both agreed to move to 9:00, and that if Novacaine decided they could not get a good enough showing for 10:00 even after the time change I would resched the game to another day (as long as they let me know by 3:00 so I could tell the refs). To their credit, they stuck with it and played.

On another point of neither team playing TC and Banditos additionally playing UDR - well, Banditos was scheduled to play TC, however I had to move games around in order to help another team who it turns out could not play on a certain day.

Both Banditos and Novacaine have been 2 of the most flexible teams in the A league as far as scheduling goes.

how do you leave out hokies here? And if 7 pt or banditos went to B, let alone, C they would kill most of the teams in both divisions. You would be the same person saying they should move up A. right now, A is actually very competitive, not watered down. Know the difference.

The bottom line...`Bells, lesson learned. Cody was right, along with Nadal...it`s pretty weak to ask for a reschedule when 1 guy can`t make the game, regardless of who that one person is. If you still have enough to field a team, you shouldn`t ask for the reschedule in the first place. What makes it worse....they had 11-12 people at the field, so they easily had a full squad at 9pm. Almost all teams are flexible, but this might make some teams think twice when asked to reschedule a game.
